Atlanta Tech Week: Complete Guide to the 2026 Recap, Venues and 2027 Dates

A yearly, citywide series of tech conferences, panels, workshops and networking events in Atlanta, Georgia, Atlanta Tech Week drew over 15,000 attendees in 2025, and the 2026 edition ran August 9 to 14 across Peachtree Corners, Buckhead, Midtown and downtown.

The week is built for founders, investors, engineers and operators. If you are new to the format, our guide on what a Tech Week is explains how these decentralized events work in every city. This article covers what happened in Atlanta in 2026, where events took place, and what to plan for in 2027.

What Is Atlanta Tech Week?

Atlanta Tech Week works like a passport to the city’s tech scene. Instead of one big conference, hundreds of hosts run their own sessions at their own venues. Startups, banks, universities and software companies all take part. Most events are free to join, and you register for each one separately.

The official hub is atl.tech, where the organizers list approved events. Your RenderATL ticket also gives you access to free citywide events, meetups and networking programming before and after the main conference. That is why people often call the two events one package.

The organizers describe the impact this way: more than 15,000 attendees, over 215 events, six days of programming and an estimated $50 million or more in economic impact. Those are organizer figures, so treat them as self reported.

Who Runs It and How It Started

Render Group produces the week, working with partners, hosts and community builders. RenderATL is its flagship software conference, and Atlanta Tech Week wraps the whole city around it.

The event has grown fast. The 2025 edition ran June 8 to 13 and marked its third year, which puts the first edition in 2023 and makes 2026 the fourth. The biggest change in 2026 was timing. The week moved from June to August, so RenderATL and the citywide programming landed in mid summer.

Atlanta’s model is close to what you see at SF Tech Week, where local hosts organize most of the schedule. The difference is the anchor. Atlanta pairs a large paid developer conference with a free community layer around it.

Where Everything Happens: Atlanta’s Tech Hubs

The week moves around the city on purpose. Each neighborhood shows a different side of the Atlanta tech scene.

Peachtree Corners. Atlanta Tech Park and Curiosity Lab anchor the northern side. Curiosity Lab works with technology companies from around the world to test emerging technology. Day one is usually the hard tech and investor day.

Buckhead. Atlanta Tech Village at 3423 Piedmont Road NE hosted day three. David Cummings founded it in 2012 as a startup hub, and it is the home of the monthly Atlanta Startup Village pitch night. Programming ran at Atlanta Tech Village, with coworking at Roam on Piedmont Road.

Midtown. Tech Square on 5th Street NW is the university and research corridor near Georgia Tech. The Tech Hop turned it into a free block party with five stops between research hubs and startup incubators.

Downtown. AmericasMart hosts RenderATL, and Atlanta Tech Village Sylvan at 235 Mitchell Street SW adds a South Downtown option for founders who prefer smaller rooms.

RenderATL and the Signature Events

RenderATL is the largest single event inside the week. Held August 12 and 13, it featured more than 150 speakers covering AI, open source, developer tools, cloud infrastructure and the future of work. Speakers included Kelsey Hightower, Killer Mike and Sarah Drasner.

Attendance figures are worth reading carefully. RenderATL reported 6,000 in person and 3,000 virtual attendees, while organizers said more than 35,000 people took part in Atlanta Tech Week overall. The 35,000 figure counts participation across all citywide events, not only conference badges, so it is not comparable to the 2025 headline number of 15,000.

Two signature programs ran inside RenderATL:

  • Silicon South Summit: a gathering of founders, investors and operators shaping the Southeast tech market.
  • ATL AI Expo: a one day event bringing together more than 2,000 AI engineers and builders, included with the RenderATL ticket.

RenderATL also added RenderFEST, an opening night music and community event, and an invite only Executive Track for senior leaders. Render Points, a rewards system, lets attendees earn points across the Renderverse and redeem them in the app.

Atlanta Tech Week 2027: Dates and What to Expect

The next edition is set for August 2027. RenderATL 2027 is scheduled for August 18 and 19. The organizers list the wider week as running from about August 15 or 17 to August 20, so confirm the exact opening day on atl.tech before booking travel.

Expect the same structure: a free citywide calendar, RenderATL in the middle, and hosts announcing events over the summer. Early ticket pricing for RenderATL has historically risen before the event, so buying earlier usually costs less. The Indigo Hotel sits inside the RenderATL venue and serves as the official speaker and partner hotel.

How to Plan Your Week

  1. Start with the official calendar. The atl.tech events page lists approved events, and each listing links to its own registration.
  2. Download the RenderATL app. It is free and holds your schedule and points.
  3. Pick one neighborhood per day. Traffic between Peachtree Corners and downtown can eat an afternoon.
  4. Mix paid and free. Use the free events for networking and the RenderATL badge for deep technical talks.
  5. RSVP early. Popular happy hours and masterclasses fill up, and some venues only share the address after you register.

Atlanta Tech Events Between Now and 2027

You do not need to wait a year. Atlanta Tech Village keeps a steady calendar of Atlanta tech events, and several fall in the weeks ahead:

  • Atlanta Startup Village #107 on Monday, September 28, 2026, with a 6 PM happy hour and 7 PM startup pitches at Atlanta Tech Village.
  • The Growth Table on Tuesday, September 29, a monthly breakfast for growth stage founders, run with Endeavor Southeast.
  • Wednesd.AI, a free weekly session where a community member shows how they use AI. Doors open at 8:30 AM every Wednesday in Buckhead.

These make good tech networking events in Atlanta if you want to build relationships before the 2027 edition. If you want to compare formats before 2027, LA Tech Week shows how another major city builds its calendar.
